Dive Agar
This little gem is located on the vast coast of Maharashtra: Dive Agar. The small town is on the brink of a wave of tourists due to the saturation of neighboring "scary" tourist spots like Alibag and Zangira Murad. The distance is only 195 km and the roads are also beautiful. NH17 - Mumbai In Goa you have to go to Mangaon and then to Srivardhan and Harihareshwar. On this way, you will find the town called Mohsala, where this heavenly place is located, just 16 km. Between Mumbai and Mangaon there are two decent restaurants with clean toilets. 10 km from Panvel in Karnala, 2 km before multi cuisine restaurant 'Vittal Kamath' and Kolade Mangaon 'Mai Bhavani'. An ethnic restaurant in Maharashtra where the 'Tulgapur Bhavani' temple is located! Dive Agar is known as "Golden Ganesh". On November 17, 1997, Draupadi Dharma Patil, while digging in her betel nut farm, found a copper chest containing a golden mask of Ganesha. When he found this treasure, he informed his neighbors and the police. The panchnama was then executed according to law and the local board seized the golden mask of Ganesha. Hence it was decided to keep it in a Ganesha temple located in the city for worship and display. Unfortunately, the "Seeker" is not a "guardian" in this matter, and so far he has been given only empty promises from the temple rulers and authorities. Who said honesty pays? But he built a small temple where he found it, and whoever reached it donated to his efforts. Then another temple called "Rupnarayan Mandir" was built. The idol was removed from the old 1962 Sundarnarayan Temple which was still under construction and installed in the new Rupnarayan Temple. Now that your spiritual needs are taken care of, you can celebrate. The beach is virgin, clean and beautiful. The sunset is spectacular. There are small houses all along the roads and most, if not all, will provide you with a hearty meal at a very reasonable price. But they should be informed in advance or be prepared to wait a while if the food is cooked to order. I didn't see any liquor stores nearby and when we ordered beer we were told it had to be brought in from Burley. There is another town about 10 kilometers away, take your wine if you like. The seafood, especially the surmai, is delicious and the restaurant will have a choice of chicken thali or fish thali as well as vegetarian thali. For dessert, you can have steamed dumplings stuffed with shredded coconut and brown sugar at Ukdiche Modak. The use of oil is minimal, but coconut is widely used in all lotions. In terms of accommodation, you can stay in an ordinary house or hotel, which is only three of all diving zones. One is the rented MTDC "Exotica" and then the popular mid-range hotel "Prthmesh" or Hotel Pinakin where we stayed is also a mid-range hotel. Exotica is the only beach that borders the beach, the other two are about 10 minutes away. Like all cities in Maharashtra, the city has a 'Shivajji Chowk' which is its focal point.
If you are the kind of person who wants to relax and enjoy some solitude while walking on the beach, this is the place to go. But go before the naughty tourists spoil you.
