A piece of heaven - Gulmarg, Kashmir - Part 2
We are receiving messages and calls from well-wishers informing us about the rising tension in Kashmir and urging them to return home. We laughed and boarded the bus to Gulmarg. The journey was easy, we passed through beautiful landscapes and marveled at their beauty.
Our driver Shabi was a very nice guy, full of humor and always wanted to make sure we were comfortable.
We halted at Thangmarg, 12 km from Gulmarg, to rent winter boots and warm waterproof coats so that we could participate in snow activities in Gulmarg.
Gulmarg is situated in a bowl-shaped valley of the Himalayan Pir Panjal range at an altitude of 2,650 m and is a center for skiing, snowboarding and trekking. We were in Tangmarg.
Associated with Omar, our guardian angel. He was so amazing that he created an invisible tunnel and guided us through all the activities in Gulmarg. We didn't sweat. he
Only later did I learn that he was the national snowmobile champion three years in a row and worked as a guide in his spare time. Calm people! If you are planning to visit Gulmarg and need help, please email me. You will not regret it.
As we were completing the check-in process at the Mama Palace Hotel in Gulmarg, Umar was busy buying tickets for the gondola ride, and that's when we realized it was important to have someone help with it. We reached the gondola boarding area where passengers waiting to buy tickets blocked their way to collect their tickets and chaos ensued. Fortunately, we soon found ourselves in a gondola descending the snowy slopes of the Himalayas.
Gulmarg commercial elevator, built by the French company "Pomagalski", is one of the tallest in the world, with a height of 3979 meters. A double-decker cable car transports people over the Gulmarg shoulder and the nearby Afarwat Peak (4,200 m / 13,800 ft). The first phase will move from Gulmarg to 2600
m (8,500 ft) to 3,080 m (10,100 ft) Condor. The second stage takes the climbers to the Afarvat peak at an altitude of 4,200 meters at an altitude of 3,950 meters.
After finishing, we went to the 1st level of "Konder", had a delicious lunch at Kangposh Restaurant and went for a snowmobile ride. Another first time for all of us. We drank the pills.
And the riders were great, even if the trainer pills encouraged some of us to ride on our own.
The next day was set for more adventures but this time around Gulmarg.
ATVs (quad bikes). It was fun and we would stay here again.
Two days adventure in Gulmarg was fun and now time to go to Pahalgam.
