Humayun's tomb in Delhi.

Humayun's Mausoleum is the first garden cemetery in the Indian subcontinent. This is the tomb of Emperor Humayun who was the 2nd ruler after the first Mughal Emperor Babur.
It was commissioned by his wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum, in 1565, nine years after his death, and completed in 1572 under the administration of Akbar, son of Mughal Emperor Humayun III .
Humayun's Tomb or Maqbara-e-Humayun in Nizamuddin's East Delhi is one of the best preserved Mughal monuments and was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.

This mausoleum is the origin of Mughal architecture in India, a fusion of Turkish, Persian and Indian architectural styles. Its style reached its peak during the reign of the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, who built the famous Taj Mahal.
