Jamnagar - The naturalist's haven

Since I read about the marine reserve near Jamnagar, I really wanted to visit it. He went online to find out more and found it to be a bird watcher's paradise. This made my father-in-law (Nandan) happy, and soon we planned a trip to this wonderful city.
It is known for its oil refineries more than for its abundance of natural beauty. The most convenient flight from Mumbai was to Rajkot (100 km from Jamnagar) on Friday evening. We had another nature lover and good friend in Jamnagar Prasad, although he was unable to meet us face to face, he provided us with all the information we needed including accommodation, travel instructions and destination. With all this, we are embarking on this fascinating journey to explore the natural wealth of Jamnagar. We booked a room at the President Hotel in Jamnagar, owned by a great naturalist! He arranged a taxi from Rajkot airport to take us to our hotel in Jamnagar. After completing the formalities, the owner of the hotel, Mr. Mushtaq, told us about the marine parks and the famous bird sanctuary of Kijidiya. Apparently the Pirotan Island Marine Sanctuary didn't open to the public until November, and we arrived a month ahead of schedule. However, according to him, there is the Narara Marine Reserve 60 kilometers away. Trekking to Jamnagar corals without trips to the islands. Most people only do coral tours in Narara as not everyone can get to Jamnagar on good days. Permission from the Forest Department is required to visit these marine reserves. You can ask the president of the hotel, Mr. Mushtaq, for help. We were told that on the way to Nara we would have the opportunity to see many birds, so we called a taxi in advance. Now, I was a complete novice in poultry farming. There was no one in sight, except for an ordinary raven and a house sparrow. Nandan, however, got tired of me and was sure that soon I would turn into a restless bird. So the journey began in earnest as Nandan neatly took the front seat. And he certainly did a great job of identifying and directing me to the best places to help me get great photos.

Finally we got to Nara and met our official guide, who informed us that in an hour we would be walking around the marine park at low tide. We decided to take advantage of this time to explore the lush mangroves, where we are sure to find something of interest. And we did. We got back to the office about an hour later and were served tea which was very refreshing and that was it.

We were warned along the way that we wouldn't be able to see much as the peak season starts in November. As a result, we saw more birds in the marine reserve than marine life. A few hours later we returned to Jamnagar, had lunch on the way, and the taxi driver showed us some of the local sights of Jamnagar.

The next morning, the famous Hijadia bird sanctuary was organized 15 km from Jamnagar. Once again, we asked to be picked up early from the hotel in order to catch those who get up early on the track. At the reserve, we meet our official guide to prepare for the International Conference of Ornithologists and Poultry Breeders, scheduled for November 25-27.
So November led our taxi driver along a path that ran along three watchtowers inside the temple. All morning we wandered around the park, watching birds and catching them. In the evening we went to Dhanchada, which is 10 km from Jamnagar, and started bird watching and clicking. The return flight from Rajkot was in the afternoon, so we went shopping in the morning.
