My 2 wheeler Odyssey - Travel Time Article

My 2 wheeler Odyssey

Foreword

Four wheels seem too balanced to my unbalanced mind, so I always prefer two wheels to four. And India was the perfect fit for my two-wheeled odyssey, so I rode a 1982 ZD 250 Classic with four friends to Yazdis for a successful Indian parikrama. This was followed by many more trips over the next twenty years, after which life began and it was necessary to leave the two-wheeled transport behind to travel more with the family.
And then it happened. I quit my main job, the kids grew up and were busy with their lives, my wife was a few years away from retirement. I quickly developed a passion for two-wheeled travel as my thirst to explore India was insatiable and Ladakh was mentioned. Royal Enfield introduced their 500cc motorcycles with modular engines and electronic fuel injection. I had no choice but to go ahead and bring home a beauty to accompany me on my Indian odyssey. So I bought a classic 500cc Royal Enfield Desert Storm.

Although I prefer to ride alone most of the time, I joined the exclusive Bisons Ride Hard Motorcycle Club.
Royal Enfield Bullet Ride and ride with them to learn the ins and outs of Bullet driving.
As fate would have it, my first club trip was Adityaraj Kapoor 's first club trip. The significance of this coincidence will soon become apparent.
On my 60th birthday, I started planning my goal of cycling the highest road in the world, Kardungla Pass . But fate had other plans. Three days before my trip down memory lane, I couldn't get out of bed due to severe sciatica. I was disappointed but didn't give up and decided to go next year. I consulted many doctors (homeopaths and allopaths), took medication, practiced yoga and went to appointments with a modified Kardungla card.
Four months before the trip, Adityaraj Kapoor approached me and expressed his desire to be with me. I accepted because he seems like a nice guy with a positive attitude and would be good company. My alone time would take the stress off my worried wife and mother a little.
With just a few appointments to plan, the Mumbai-Hardungla-Mumbai trip turned into an all-India trip and a few neighboring countries were added for good measure!
HV Kumar (The Last Word on Indian Roads) completed all road planning details and our final road plan was 14,000 km in 70 days. His team at the central hotel office will track us with GPS and book hotels for us along the way.
Dr. Alapp Mehendale , a good rider who was supposed to join us but left for professional interests, made a list of medicines we needed for such a trip, bought them and called us after using them and getting them. called, when we called them. .
Our Vinod bike technician is available by phone 24/7 in case of a bike emergency.
Finally, my therapist, Dr. Subodh Kedia gave me this opportunity after making sure that my blood pressure and blood sugar were under control.
And now the day has come. All my bags are packed, my bike is attached. The dream trip was about to begin.
A large number of people gathered at the Bandra Kurla complex to guide us on our exciting journey.

We left at 2:00 p.m. and drove to Vapi in the rain with Sri Vinayak Rath (Founding President of Bisons Ride Hard) and Sejay Ferns .
The most incredible journey has begun!
At Vapi, we were hosted for the night by Aditya's classmate Mr. Job and his beautiful wife, who treated us to a delicious dinner and drove us the next day in the pouring rain.
