Part 10 - Pokhara to Gangtok

After another peaceful journey through the beautiful forested hills of Nepal, we leave Pokhara around 08:00 and arrive in Kathmandu by 14:00.
Kathmandu is as crowded and densely populated as any Asian city. We are staying at the Thamel Hotel Vaishali.

It looks like a tourist center. Many small cafes, bars and restaurants competed to attract customers. There were also several Internet cafes, and one had boys.

Ask if you are interested in drugs or women who hold mats.
We visited the Pashupatinath temple and rested our mind and body from the hardships of horseback riding.

After a few quiet nights in Kathmandu, we decided to say goodbye to Nepal by spending one more night in Bardibas, very close to the Indo-Nepalese border.
I went straight from Bardibus to Siliguri. The conversation was chaotic. We were able to change our balance from Nepalese Rupees to Indian Rupees and were looking for the police to hand over our driver's license. Surprisingly, no one was interested, and when I asked the border guard, he greeted us!
Siliguri was a transit stop for us and we spent the night at WBTDC (West Bengal Tourist).

Development Corporation) Lodge "Mainak". The rooms were spacious but the service was poor.
We drove from Siliguri to Gangtok. It was a great trip to the mountains.

The beautiful river Testa flows in front of us.
We booked a nice little hotel "Nettle and Fern" in Gangtok. There is no direct route to Gangtok. It goes up or down.
Arriving in Gangtok in the late afternoon, we decided to check all the taxis in the area, whose drivers were full of information (another advantage of a local taxi).

He took us to the famous waterfall for ziplining and then to Ganesh Toka for a bird's eye view of Gangtok.

We spent the evening on MG Road, one of Gangtok's traffic-free streets where tourists and locals come for shopping and entertainment.
We happily ate lunch at one of the stalls with delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian momos and returned to our room.
