Ride to Spiti..

Indian bloggers

Ever since I read somewhere on the internet that Spitie was a wild kid who refused to discipline, I've been hooked. And it didn't take long for his friend Dr. Alap Mohandal, an experienced mountaineer and cyclist, to be convinced to give some time to this epic trek.
As usual, Mr. HU Kumar reached out to the data bank so that he and his team can focus on our journey while we leave the logistics to them.
In the year BKC met on August 28, 2015, refueling began at 10:30. I know it was a late start, but there were last minute things to do and the most important thing was to go! The weather was overcast and rainy with the sun shining to keep us dry. It was a wet and dry ride, and after a fast 327km on good roads we reached Dooley at 5:30pm. A room at Jhankar Palace was booked by HVK by CHD team and waiting for us with a stick.

Recorded in the evening. Dinner at this hotel was unforgettable. There was a time when onions were in short supply in Mumbai and they were being distributed in restaurants. But we were surprised when the "chicken baisa" we ordered was loaded with onions and served with a plate of onion salad on the side!
The next morning we left at 08:00 and traveled to Chittorgarh for a distance of 539 km. We arrived at our destination at 5:30pm again on a good road but were surprised by the beauty.

Crossroads in several places. Our overnight stay in Chittorgarh was at the RnB, away from the bustle of the market.
The next day, we drove 583 km to Rohtak on a leisure road and checked in to Haryana Tourist Resort Maina. The room was big, but the air conditioner was leaking! It seems to be a meeting place for the citizens. Enjoy your meal there.
As we began our journey to Chail, the mountains were approaching and with it the excitement.

Himachal Pradesh. There were delicious parathas and chhole kulches along the way. The icing on the cake was the view from our room at the Jungle Inn Resort in Chaila.

As we crossed mountains and valleys through Chandrathal, the journey of a dream began.

Saran, Reksham, Nako and Casa in six days. I have no words to describe the beauty, the joy and the sense of accomplishment as I overcame the fear of the path we were on. Check out the photos and videos of the trip below to see how great it could be.

On the way, Chitkul is the last town on the border with Indochina.

A long and winding road.

Walk the most treacherous roads in the world

On the way back, we completed the Solange trek, loaded the bikes into the truck and headed home. After walking through those mountains, walking in the field would be very boring.
