A tale of 2 Dargahs

Haji Ali Dargah was built in 1431 in memory of Syed Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, a wealthy Muslim merchant who left all his worldly possessions before making the pilgrimage to Mecca. Originally from Bukhara, in present-day Uzbekistan, Bukhari traveled the world in the 15th century. From the beginning to the middle of the century. He went to India with his brother and finally reached Mumbai near Worli. So he decided to stay there forever to spread Islam.
Until his death, he continued to spread knowledge of Islam and his followers visited him regularly. Before his death, he advised his followers not to bury him in a cemetery, but to throw his clothes ("cloth") into the sea and bury them where he was.
His wish was granted by his supporters. For this reason the Sharif Darga was built in a place where there is a canvas in the middle of the sea, standing on a small rock formation rising above the sea.

Another shrine was built on the other side of the bay. Ma Hajiani is believed to be the tomb of Hajj Ali's sister. The tomb was built in 1908 in honor of Saint Ma Hajiani, said to be the sister of Saint Pir Hajj Ali Shah Bukhari.
According to legend, they died at sea, and their bodies were carried ashore, a few meters from each other. Then they were buried in the places where they were found. Later on, two tombs were built: Hajj Ali for his brother and Hajiani for his sister. In Ma Hajiani Dargah, women are much pampered by bringing bangles made of red or green glass, red indicates the desire for marriage and green for offspring.
