Dalhousie - Travel Time Article

Dalhousie

Finally, I visited Dalhousie, a hill station that had been on my bucket list for a long time.
My first impression: full of people and hotels/motels/shopping malls. Luckily for us, our hotel, although close to the bus station, felt secluded when we walked in and had the view of Pir Panjal

The Himalayan range from the hotel courtyard was amazing.
Dalhousie, a hill station in the Chamba district of the state of Himachal Pradesh, is named after the Earl of Dalhousie, the British Governor-General of India when he founded the site in the 1850s as a summer residence at an altitude of 1970 meters above sea level.
Our local sightseeing tour starts with a visit to Panjpula where adventurous activities can be enjoyed.

There are many restaurants in Shubash Chowk that serve delicious food. We ate at Shere-e-Punjab
which also offers a great view as well as great service and delicious food.

The next morning we decided to explore Khajjiar, 22km from Dalhousie as the road was open

The return trip was unforgettable due to the heavy traffic jams on the narrow mountain roads. We were stuck in traffic for an hour and a half.

I thought a few nights in Dalhousie was pretty good and I'm glad I ticked it off my list.
