Bhedaghat
On the way to Bhedagat we stopped at the gate block near Jabalpur and learned that there are no liquor stores apart from the toll block in Bhedagat. This information was probably given to us the day before Holi, so we had to drink all night.
We choose this auspicious day for a beautiful cruise on the Narmada on a full moon night, when the rocks on both sides of the river shimmer in the moonlight. But as they say, man provides and God follows through. You will soon see why.
We went into town and visited the beautiful MPTDC property and requested a reservation to spend the night on the boat. The receptionists smiled, nodded and said “sorry sir, it's a holiday night and any ship at work would be great. However, I'll send someone to the dock and let you know.
We went to our room and just as we were making new arrangements for the night the receptionist said she was sorry the boatmen didn't do anything today and weren't supposed to do anything for two days.
Right now.' Our dream boat ride on the Narmada River crashed and burned during the ongoing Holi celebrations in the city.
The next morning we visit the amazing Duwandar Falls. Next comes Narmada.
As the rock flows slowly, it disturbs the high cliffs for a short distance where it falls in a violent drop called Duandar. It is called Duandar (smoke) because the water vapor rises with a deafening force as it descends. It is a very beautiful sight.
We spent some time there and when we were full we went back to see the marble cliffs shimmering in the moonlight for another moonlight walk.
