Bhopal the capital of Madhya Pradesh


Whenever the word Bhopal is mentioned, it goes back to December 3 , 1984, when the Union Carbide Corporation pesticide plant in Bhopal released 32 tons of toxic gases, including methyl isocyanate gas, causing the worst industrial accident ever. . But when we reached Bhopal a few months ago, almost 28 years after the tragic incident, we found that people had moved and nothing was clear.


Danger Signs Like any city in India, it was noisy, with maddened traffic on narrow, crowded streets.
Bhopal, now the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is said to have been founded by Raja Bhoja Delhi.

After checking in at Hotel Ranjit, I had a quick lunch and went to the State Museum. This is a museum


Dedicated to archaeology, it displays ancient artefacts such as coins, statues and terra cotta from all the important sites of the region. Paintings and handicrafts of tribal communities are also displayed.


Madhya Pradesh. This is definitely a place where you can spend hours admiring the amazing art of the artisans. The museum is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and is closed on Mondays and holidays. There is also no entry fee to encourage people to visit and learn.
By the time we finished the museum it was already dark and we headed down to the lake at sunset.


The cruise was magical.


We ended the day with a feast of Chattori Gali, Bhopal Kau Gali Kabab and Tandoori.

Bhopal has very special transport for our city tour which we boarded the next day. Our first stop was there.


The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is dedicated to Vishnu and his mythological consort Laxmi, also known as Birla Mandir. you


Beautiful views of Bhopal can be seen from the temple grounds.


The next stop was the Tajul Mosque, the third largest mosque in the world. After a photo session at the mosque, we went to the Tribal Museum, a beautiful place that displays tribal art from Madhya Pradesh.


It takes at least three hours to explore the museum.

Jama Masjid near Chattori Valley once again invited us to enjoy Jamiel's delicious Biryani and 'Ke Joor' which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The Bhimbetka complex entrance guide took us through all the important sites, giving information about the historical significance of each. It is a World Heritage Site, and many analyzes show that hominids such as Homo erectus lived in at least some of these shelters 100,000 years ago. Some of the Stone Age cave paintings found in the rock shelters of Bhimbetka are about 30,000 years old (Paleolithic).
The name Bhimbetka is said to be derived from Bhimbaitka which means 'abode of Bhima'. Bhima is a heroic deity known for his strength from the great Mahabharata. Discovered in 1957 by VSWakankar.
It is surprising that these paintings have not disappeared after thousands of years. The oldest paintings are believed to be 30,000 years old, but some geometric figures have been found as far back as the Middle Ages.
Even here, walking on the ground takes two to three hours.
On our way back to Bhopal, we visited the Bhojeshwar temple. It is a temple dedicated to the Lord.


Shiva and a huge linga 5.5 m high and 2.3 m (7.5 ft) in circumference.


Unfortunately, this temple was never completed as King Bhoja along with Lakshmi-Karna was defeated in a battle by the combined forces of Kalyan and Gujarat Chalukyas.

By train . Bhopal Railway Station is a major railway station that connects major cities in India.
By air . Bhopal Airport, also known as Raja Bhoj Airport, is located 15 km from the city center. It is well connected by domestic airlines from major cities in India.
By the way . night deluxe buses are available from Delhi, Gwalior and Jabalpur to Bhopal.
